Police Chase – Impaired Driver – B & E

 

 

O.P.P. News Release

—Three (3) Items—

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) Sunday, April 15th, 2007 at 4:05 p.m. officers of the East Algoma OPP [Ontario Provincial Police] attended the intersection of Pearson Drive and Mississauga Avenue in regards to a motor vehicle collision. Witnesses advised police that the driver of a half-ton truck had allegedly lost control and struck a bus shelter. The driver and vehicle were no longer at the scene.

Police received another call that the suspect vehicle may be at the intersection of Hergott Avenue and Lachance Place. Officers attended the area and located the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle did not stop for police and police ensued in a pursuit. The vehicle was later blocked and attempting to leave the area struck a police vehicle.

Charged with the following is Roger Ferdinand DECORTE (41 yrs. old) of Elliot Lake.

Impaired Driving
Dangerous Operation
Flight from Police
Assault with a Weapon X4
Breach of Probation X2
Fail to Remain at the Scene of an Accident
Failure to Provide Breath Sample

DECORTE is in custody awaiting a Bail Hearing on April 16th, 2007.

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) On April 13th, 07 at approximately 11:41 p.m. the East Algoma OPP [Ontario Provincial Police] received a call regarding a possible impaired driver. Police attended the area on Washington Crescent, located the vehicle and the driver.

Charged with the following is Susan Jane GOSSELIN (40 yrs. old) of Elliot Lake:

Impaired Driving
Failure to Provide Breath Sample

Having care or control of a motor vehicle with open container of liquor-LLA

GOSSELIN is scheduled to appear in court in Elliot Lake on July 3rd, 2007.

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) Police are currently investigating a Break and Enter and Theft at a local business on Brunswick Walk in Elliot Lake.

Between April 13th, 2007 12:01 a.m. and April 13th, 2007 9:00 a.m. unknown person(s) attended the back area of the business breaking a window to access the business. Once inside the culprit(s) rifled through the store and stole a number of items.

Some of the items stolen are: MP-3 Players, a Koffman knife set, Glass bongs, X-Box, PS2 and Game Cube games, AAA and AA Batteries, Poker Chips in a brown wooden box, a cash register with an undisclosed amount of cash, lighters, Sony Walkmans, Playstation systems, silver charms, watches and more….
